Kendall is beside herself with excitement about this summer. She is going to show 2 heifers (I think they are both girls) at the 4-H fair. Kelsey is also going to show a steer-the one they are petting here. He was shown as a bucket calf last year so he is pretty tame as you can see. Kelsey wasn't near as excited until we went in the pen to pet him and she saw how tame he is. I even laid across his back and he didn't move. Kendall's cattle are not as tame so dad and I will start training them first (don't worry nana, we won't let her get hurt). I think having the girls in 4-H is a priceless opportunity that teaches them responsibility, hard work, and leadership.
